Dugan Yard

Dugan Yard was first opened on Fisher College’s south campus following a generous gift from alumni Kevin Dugan in 2001. Since then, it has served as home for their nationally-ranked baseball team, which has won more than 300 games and twice reached the Division III World Series.

2011, the field was upgraded with a state-of-the-art training facility/press box constructed behind the third baseline with windows overlooking the diamond. This new addition is intended to elevate both fan and player experiences and is an ideal space for practice and game play, separating hitters from pitchers during workouts and drills.

The Dugan Family Practice Facility will allow the Cardinals to train year-round. It features an indoor turf infield, which can be divided so both hitters and pitchers can simultaneously prepare, cutting-edge technology to analyze swing patterns and replicate opponents’ pitching styles, and much more – helping them hone their skills and increase their odds of reaching Major League status.

Alfred State Pioneers edged out St. John Fisher Cardinals 4-3 at Dugan Yard on Friday afternoon after Matteo Avallone (Mahopac/Bridgton Academy) hit a two-run homer to give Alfred State an early advantage; however, St. John Fisher responded with two runs in their half of the second inning to tie it at three and gain control once again.

The Pioneers secured their victory in the top of the 10th inning with a bases-loaded walk to Grant Lavigne and then Dugan Darnell (Adrian / Adrian College) striking out five batters over two scoreless innings for a save and victory – earning their third straight win since September. They remain one game behind Rochester Red Wings for first place in Empire 8 Athletic Conference play and will return home against Rochester Honkers this Sunday.
