Realme 8 Pro Camera Review

The Realme 8 Pro Camera Review is a mid-range smartphone with much to offer. It has a powerful 108 MP rear camera and is one of the first phones to feature Samsung’s HM2 sensor.

The primary camera is genuinely good, delivering outstanding images in daylight at a 1x zoom. The bokeh effects in the portrait mode are lovely too. The ColorOS/Realme UI includes some interesting filters like dynamic bokeh or AI color portrait (with a monochrome background).

Camera

The Realme 8 Pro is a snap-happy phone with a camera that can take awe-inspiring photos. The 108-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor produces detailed shots that can rival flagship phones in daylight.

Moreover, the default 12MP photos are noise-free and have excellent contrast and colors. However, they’re also over-saturated.

This can be toned down by turning off AI Scene Enhancement. The low-light 4K30 fps videos are pretty good as well. They’re not as detailed as we’d like, but they still manage to preserve color, have good dynamic range, and are relatively low in noise.

The night mode takes about five seconds to take a shot and does an excellent job of highlighting details in dark scenes. Nevertheless, low-light selfies can be slightly muddy, and noise handling isn’t as good.

Audio

The Realme 8 Pro is a great mid-range phone focusing heavily on its camera. This smartphone combines a solid camera with the latest Snapdragon 720G processor to create one of the best budget cameras.

The main rear dual-camera setup sports a 108MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide, 2MP Macro, and a 2MP monochrome lens. The resulting images are well-resolved and have good detail.

Colors can be slightly oversaturated, and the ultrawide is prone to subtle shifts in white balance when shooting blue skies, but otherwise, the quality of the photos is impressive for this price point.

The phone can also shoot in night mode, a feature that many competitors aren’t. Its low-light photos are perfect, bringing in a lot of details that would have been lost if they’d been taken in normal light.

Battery

The Realme 8 Pro is a bold, flashy smartphone with a substantial 108-megapixel camera, fast charging, and long battery life. But it’s not a perfect phone by any stretch of the imagination.

This phone has many things to love, but many are offset by bloatware and software issues. That’s not to say that this phone is a bad buy, but the competition is so far ahead in most areas that it’s hard to recommend.

On the other hand, the Realme 8 Pro’s 108-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor is one of the best you’ll find in a phone at this price point, if not the very best. This is thanks to an f/1.88-aperture and a 6-element lens that delivers impressive detail.

Software

The Realme 8 Pro is a mid-range smartphone with an impressive camera sensor. It features a 108-MP Samsung HM2 sensor with 9:1 pixel binning to capture detailed images.

There are also a few camera modes that you can use to take better pictures. These include Bokeh mode, slow motion, and tilt shift.

You can also switch to the new Starry Mode. This mode uses AI to adjust the lighting, which is helpful when taking pictures in a dark room.

The camera app is well-optimized for the Realme 8 Pro and works well in most circumstances. However, I noticed a few bugs, and I hope Realme will fix them in future updates.
